You’ve finally made it to the end of the week! You’ve been through a lot of meetings and are ready for some time away from the office (or maybe working on a side project.) Before you shut down your computer and head out for the weekend, here are a few things you can do to be more prepared next week.

1) Reflect

Grab a sheet of paper and write down three things that went well this week, along with three things that did not. Write a sentence on how you can improve yourself, based on the things that didn’t go well this week.

2) Tie Up Loose Ends

Waiting for feedback on something you did? Fridays are a great time to do follow-ups. This will help put your mind at ease as you head into the weekend.

3)  Organize Your Inbox & Workspace

As you approach the final hour or two of your workday, take the time to sort through your inbox and organize it in a way that works for you. Look at your calendar to see if you have any Monday morning meetings that you need to prep for.

Also, take this time to clean off the surface of your workspace, empty your trash, and take anything out of the fridge that’s left over. You don’t want to be the reason why a “suspicious smell from the fridge” email was sent.

4)  Establish Your Priorities for Next Week

Take a look at what’s on your plate, and highlight your top three projects or goals. Put these at the top of your to-do list so that way you know it’s a main focus. This will help you hit the ground running come Monday.

5) Talk with Your Coworkers

Let them know how they can get in touch with you. Wishing them a great weekend can also help you appear friendlier and let others know that you are leaving for the day.
